What were your motivations going into the program?
After my second baby I wasn’t happy about my body and how I looked as I had put on 6 kgs which resulted in gaining 2 sizes of clothes. I used to be an XS-S and I was now a Medium or Large sometimes. I wanted to be able to look at myself in the mirror and feel the strength and confidence that I used to have pre baby.
How were you feeling both physically and mentally before starting with ONE?
I was extremely driven and committed to do whatever it took to lose the fat and gain all the muscles I could during the training period.
What was your diet and lifestyle like before you started your transformation with ONE?
I always had a rather balanced diet but I would say I would definitely indulge in the occasional wine, Champagne, cheese and dark chocolate. My lifestyle wasn’t sedentary as I was running after 2 young ones but I wouldn’t say I was very athletic. I would go for a run with my husband once a week or once every two weeks. In a nutshell, I didn’t sweat that much.
How did your diet and lifestyle change when you started your transformation with ONE?
It changed tremendously as I started tracking everything I was eating and drinking. It made me accountable on all the calories and different macronutrients I was putting in my mouth and I was quite surprised that some food and especially the amount I was eating contained more calories that I imagined. I realized that my body clearly needed more protein that I was used to eat as well.
I cut the alcohol and the dairy. Up the protein and the vegetables. However I was eating occasionally outside and I didn’t find it too difficult to follow up my diet. We would discuss it before with my trainer Sean and he would create some calories deficit few days before to make it up for potential excess while eating out.
What effect did this have on your health, performance, lifestyle and energy inside and outside the gym?
I felt my core getting stronger after each session and I had more energy that I thought I would have.
I definitely felt leaner and started running more often and even by myself. I used to drag myself for a run with my husband and now I feel my muscles supporting me when I run or climb up the mountain.
There was definitely a mental shift in me for willing and enjoying exercising.
How did you find the training and did it fit around your busy lifestyle?
I found the training very good. We started slow and gradually increased the intensity. I trusted the process as I thought it was probably too easy when we started!
What were your results like after your transformation?
I went from 25.8% body fat to 18.6% and 58.7kgs to 51.6 kgs.
What were the most important things you learned during your journey and what really worked for you in helping you make your transformation?
I learned that weight training is actually really good for fat loss. It’s also very complementary to cardio, and that one hour of weight training properly done makes you sweat and tires you more than one hour of cardio!
I also discovered that I really enjoy training and that having a supportive and committed trainer like Sean who is here to push you to your achieve your best is really key to your success.
