Why Chang Puts His Sucess Down to Motivation
What was your level of fitness before you started with Josh?
My fitness level was not bad when I first started with Josh. I was doing strength training on my own but wasn’t seeing the results I was expecting. Moreover, I was training on my own, so I kept giving myself excuses to skip my training session. I need something to motivate me. Besides that, I had just moved to HK back then, and was enjoying all the food around me. Instead of having the food to continue to motivate me, I wanted to be motivated by a healthier, better, fitter lifestyle. In short, I wasn’t achieving my goal. So, I started looking for a Personal Trainer. I was introduced to Josh and have been training with him ever since (3 years ago).
What was the core problem you wanted to solve?
I wanted to stay healthy and look fitter. I work long hours so I need some kind of motivation to help keep pushing me to continue on to workout and exercise.
Did you have any hesitations before starting this style of training?
Not really. I understand how it works and Josh explained the whole program to me. We communicate during our personal training session, WhatsApp and email. Through my own observation, readings, and talking to friends, I know the program would work effectively if you follow it stringently. There are plenty of self-discipline which need to be instilled into each program. It’s not only a workout program, but also a diet plan which help to bring out the results I wanted.
What have you learnt and achieved from the training?
Training is important, but the diet plays a big role too. Talk to your trainer to let him or her know what you want to achieve. Based on your goals, the training and diet program varies. Self-discipline is extremely important to ensure the program works. If you have a program, but you don’t follow it, then you are not going to see the results your want. So, stay focused!
What specifically did you like most about the program?
It is not only an exercise program. Josh has an amicable personality and approachable. During the workout session, it’s not only about working out, and talking about our diet. Best of all, you get to see the changes in your fitness level and body. You get to be a witness the results of you and your PT hard work.

Would you recommend training at ONE? If so, why?
Yes, I would. However, Personal Training is a very personal thing. There are quite a number of PTs at One. Choose someone who you think can work well with you and motivate you. You also need to make a lot of personal sacrifices in your lifestyle. Think through it thoroughly and put on a positive mindset. Let your PT to motivate and drive you.

Set your goals right, and follow it. If you have the right PT and a good program but fail to achieve your goal, you have no one to blame but yourself.
